WhatsApp, the top-rated messaging program developed by Meta, is always attempting to add new capabilities to its interface. The desktop version receives updates almost as frequently as the mobile app, and a long list of additional features is on the way.

Screen Lock

Today, WhatsApp Desktop will finally have access to iOS and Android’s Screen Lock functionality. This enables you to protect the app with a password from prying eyes. It ought to be pretty helpful while using a PC or laptop that you share with someone else.

Polls

However, two more improvements are still coming to WhatsApp’s desktop version, according to feature tracker WA Beta Info. The tech blog claims that polls and a new sidebar for call history will soon be added to WhatsApp Desktop.

Recently, WhatsApp polls were added to the mobile app, but they have not yet appeared on desktop and laptop computers. Polls may presently be voted on and interacted with on WhatsApp Desktop, however poll creation is not yet an option. But you will soon be able to make polls on a desktop as well, as seen in the picture above. The most recent beta version already has the feature.

Call Tab

The desktop version of WhatsApp will soon have a call tab, much like the mobile apps for Android and iOS. This will be on the sidebar of the app, which was just launched. This is how it will seem.

Your whole call history will be shown in one location on this tab. You may also call fresh numbers and do contact searches. Your call history might not sync with your smartphone right away as it is currently only accessible in beta, but once it is included in the stable version, things should go much more smoothly.

Any of these features have no set release date. Before we meet them, it might be weeks or even many months. Whatever happens, we’ll keep you informed.
